I consider myself a great follower of cartoons. I have grown up traveling the world with Willy Fog and recalling a thousand and times the classic tales of a lifetime by Walt Disney. But lately the cartoons I saw in the movies or on television did not get hooked as much as before (I don't know if it's because of the quality or because I'm getting old), until I discovered them by chance.
And, who was going to tell me that two stepbrothers who live an endless summer, with a platypus per pet and a sister who does nothing but bother them would attract me so much? And to conquer me at all, last summer they jump to the big screen and get one of the best children's films "Phineas and Ferb, the movie: Through the Second Dimension".
Surely I did not surprise you that a Disney movie triumphs among the smallest of the house, but this time I think it has double merit since it is a film that continues the tradition (something lost for a while) of continuing to make cartoons like such and not by computer, besides being drawings that adults (as well as children) like as much (or more).
What the series counts
For those who do not know the series (which I doubt), Phineas and Ferb are two stepbrothers inventors who are in the town of Danville, within the so-called "Area of the Three States" enjoying their summer vacation, wondering what they can Do to pass the time. But they don't settle for playing ball or going to the pool, but instead build the most incredible inventions
On the other hand, his older sister Candace is always trying by all possible means to frustrate his brothers' plans and ideas. To do this, he looks for a way for his mother to find out everything they are doing. Although his efforts are in vain, since he never succeeds (one way or another always happens something that erases the creation of the two brothers from the map)
Finally, closing the main triangle of the stories of Phineas and Ferb we have Perry, his pet platypus, who is none other than a secret agent whose mission in ending the "evil" plans of Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz and his "inators", that is, his diabolical inventions to end the "Area of the Three States" or anything else he does not like (for example, the hot dog carts).
What the movie tells
Keep in mind that "Phineas and Ferb, the movie" premiered in cinemas only in Spain, since it is originally a special chapter of the original series. On the other hand, the film I am talking about. His argument follows the structure that I have previously told you: Phineas and Ferb travel to the second dimension where Dr. Doofenshmirtz is the absolute ruler, and they have to prevent him from traveling to his dimension and also conquering it.
As you can see, the plot is not very complex, but still it has been possible to make a film that does not leave you indifferent. And in part, its success lies in some very original and catchy songs, which took me a long time to get out of my head. In addition, it is necessary to make special mention and congratulate the doublers because they get that there are almost no discrepancies between the original and the dubbed letters, which is appreciated in this type of movies.
We like it because ...
Why would you recommend this movie before others? There are several reasons why I would tell people to see it because it seems to me that it is a breath of fresh air in the current animation, in addition to teaching children (and those who are not so children) that Phineas and Ferb represent how unlimited children's imagination is.
But if you ask me for concrete things, I'm staying with Dr. Doofenshmirtz, one of the most original characters I've seen in a long time. A "genius" of evil that never manages to finish any of the plans that are proposed, even building the most incredible "-inators", such as the other dimensionator (the invention of the film). Deep down, I find it very endearing because despite wanting to be so bad, deep down he has his little heart and is a good person ...
Another reason, which I have commented before, is his songs. I find them very enjoyable for the little ones, and I have to admit that once in a while I have sung them aloud. His lyrics are very original and fit perfectly in the film, without becoming as burdensome or forced as in other children's films. My favorite: "Everything is the pear with Perry."
Anyway, one of the best children's films is "Phineas and Ferb, the movie: Through the Second Dimension", an adventure recommended for children of all ages, both large and small, that makes you forget for a few moments of the daily routine and makes you see that ... hey, where is Perry ?.
