Today, October 8, the "P Day", first national day of Pediatrics promoted and sponsored by the Spanish Association of Pediatrics, in recognition of the profession of pediatricians, very important figures during the first years of our children's lives.
This year's motto is "The pediatrician, one of the family", with which we want to highlight the collaboration that pediatric specialists provide to families for the health care and development of children. I think it's very good to highlight the pediatrician's closeness, but one more of the family?
It is a good day to recognize their work, their love (in some cases) and above all the patience they have to deal with hundreds of worried parents every day. Of course, when in doubt you have to consult the doctor, but sometimes I hallucinate with the lack of common sense of some parents who go for the slightest nonsense. Then we are not surprised that the queries are crowded.
I think that parents have to have more confidence in our role as caregivers of our children and think twice if it is really necessary to go to the pediatrician, to whom we thank you very much for your work, but also not to adopt it in the family.
