Winnie the Pooh turns 80

On December 24, Christmas Eve, Winnie the Pooh turned 80. This honey-loving teddy bear, one of the characters most loved by children, was born in 1925 in the columns of the British newspaper London Evening News, and since then, his adventures have been translated into more than 40 languages.

Alan Alexander Milne was the creator of Winnie the Pooh, inspired by a visit he made with his son to the London Zoo.

Christopher Robin, Milne's son and whose name appears in Winnie's stories, had a teddy bear that he named Winnie the Pooh in honor of the Canadian bear he saw at the zoo called Winnie.

The adventures that happen to Winnie de Pooh are those that Alan Alexander Milne himself told his son. The rights of this character were ceded to Disney in 1961, when Milne passed away, and Winnie appeared on television for the first time in 1966.

Disney continues to produce movies, television shows, toys and products with the figure of Winnie the Pooh, and plans to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the bear throughout the year. In addition, by 2007, they want to produce a new television series in which they will replace the character of Christopher Robin with a six-year-old redhead girl.

We hope that the adventures of this gluttonous bear continue to motivate and satisfy the little ones in the house.
