Copenhagen: cycling with babies

In a country like Spain, as in so many others, we are not used to seeing bicycles with passenger babies, although the good weather we usually enjoy makes it a simple and pleasant activity. But in other places, such as in Amsterdam or in Copenhagen, that parents take their babies by bicycle is most normal.

Of course, you always have to take the bicycle with great caution, the good thing is that in these places they are very accustomed to circulating in this means of transport and there is a lot of respect and specific places to circulate. In addition to bringing our baby close, pedaling we exercise.

There are several systems to pedal with our babies, from drawers that turn the bike into a tricycle to parents carrying their baby in a backpack.

The drawers seem a more comfortable system, although the space needed to maneuver increases and mobility decreases. But the baby is more collected, especially if they are small, as the box can incorporate a retention system. In the larger drawers you can also attach the carrycot or cuckoo, better always with a suitable retention system, hooked to the drawer itself.

From "Sustainable Society" we are taught these and other systems to ride a bike with our baby through photographs taken in the Danish capital.

There is a particularly comfortable box mode, which is high, like a front bicycle basket but somewhat larger to fit the baby safely.

There are even systems for attaching the baby's own cart to the bicycle, although in this way the central structure is unbalanced, especially if it is attached on one side as a "sidecar". I do not know if I would dare with this last system, which unbalances me to a bag hanging from the handlebars ...

But I certainly believe that cycling with our baby It is a good way to move around the city or, better, to enjoy a picnic in the open air in the countryside.
