Special Infant Feeding: fun dishes and tables

We eat by the eyes. The appearance of the food and its presentation is essential to make it more appetizing. That is why, now that Christmas is approaching and within our Special Infant Feeding we are going, for sure, to meet with special party meals, we will talk about the presentation of the table and the dishes in a fun way.

A fun idea

In all the ways we can decorate the table, perhaps the most fun for children and interactive is that of the table-story. We must put a tablecloth of hard paper in white or very light color. Then, prepare pencils and waxes at the site of each diner. We will start reading a beautiful story, cheerful, even representing us or with puppets if we dare. The idea is to capture the imagination of the little guests and start the party on the right foot, while we are all going to participate in the decoration.

Finishing the story we encourage the guests to decorate the tablecloth with drawings that make them evoke the story, and we will end with a beautiful tablecloth and full of color, as well as absolutely unrepeatable. Then to eat.

To complete this proposal, at another table, we will have prepared, buffet type, food, trying choose them very colorful so you can play with them later to decorate the dishes.

I propose to put many things suitable for all guests: strips of red, green and yellow pepper, corn, tomatoes, chopped Lombard, salted crackers, cheese tacos of various colors, quince tacos, spun egg, slices of hard-boiled egg, carrot grated, cucumber, plus apple, beet, and lettuce cut or chopped. We can add peeled nuts if the children are not very small, potato croquettes, mushrooms filled with mushroom cream, tartlets, wild rice, peas, broccoli and cauliflower sprigs, chopped parsley, pink salt ... We can also put banana slices, Kiwi, pear, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and any other fruit already cut.

With all these things, in plain dishes, guests can create landscapes, drawings and even illustrations for the story we have started with or anything they imagine. I assure you that the table will be beautiful, full of color and designs, and that nobody is going to get bored tonight.

Decorate for everyone

Parties and special meetings are a good time to make our table is dressed as a party. We can make real works of art by combining vases, centerpieces, flowers and other ornaments, but, we are thinking about tables that will be full of children and that they should also be kind to them.

What do i mean? That we should think of children when we decorate the table. The little ones tend to touch everything, they are curious, sometimes they are more clumsy manually, and also, in a safe party they get a little upset. If we fill the table with very delicate, dangerous decorations that can be broken, we will spend the night warning that this is not touched, and, really, it does not seem a way to pass a fun evening, neither for them, nor for you.

Therefore, decorate yes, but decorate for everyone. Ideally, the basic elements of the table should be used to create a pleasant atmosphere, combining table linen, dishes, dishes and glasses in contrasting and bright colors. Matching cardboard napkin rings with tablecloths or bows can be a simple and cheap way to decorate the table, without spending much and even proposing to the children of the house to help us make them.

We can, of course, use small colored tablecloths or a cloth path in the center, and also create our own decorative elements with twigs tied with strips of cloth, painted pineapples, jelly beans, dried fruit slices, bows, garlands of leaves and flowers, always counting that they are things that, if spoiled, do not give us a dislike or cause danger or discomfort.

We can even make the centerpieces with food by arranging it in a colorful and cheerful way or using edible paint on a fruit or some cookies.

We can also devastate if we use to decorate some original elements, such as these origami proposed by our Decosphere companions

Glasses, plates and cutlery

When there are children, especially if they are young, it is better not to use anything that can be broken and, above all, that if it is broken it cannot harm or cut them. Plates, glasses and plastic cutlery are the best option and, although they are a little more expensive, those that can be reused are the ones that will come out cheaper in the long run.

Our mates Decoesphere They recently asked themselves this question: Disposable or traditional dishes? . Both thinking about making cleaning and collection work easier, and for safety, if there are children at the table of a family meal, it is best to use, at a party, a disposable tableware.

There are cardboard with faces of children's dolls, but they are not very elegant, and, unless the child is infatuated and it is for a birthday, we can choose other plain colors and nice design. There are beautiful ones, there are even glasses and cutlery, so for a day, thinking of setting up a beautiful table, easy to clean and that you cannot finish full of crystals, is a good option.

If the meeting is more informal, we can buy plastic cups and plates of many colors, such as those sold at IKEA. They are washable but we make sure that kids can't break anything If they fuss during the party.

With a little imagination, as you can see, we can prepare some fun tables and colorful plates That make a special meal enjoyable for the elderly and unforgettable for children.
