Babies drink breast milk in a glass: video

One of the problems with the use of teats With young babies, they get used to a different suction from breastfeeding. Therefore, the pacifier is not recommended in newborns until breastfeeding has been established.

Bottles can also interfere with breastfeeding directly from the breast, so a possible alternative, which we saw a while ago, is to offer babies breast milk in a glass. Today we want to share this beautiful video of babies drinking from a glass breast milk previously extracted.

In this way the "confusion of suction" is avoided, because the way in which it is drunk from the glass is totally different from how it is sucked from a nipple or from the breast. In the images we see some premature babies (35 weeks) that were fed in this way until the month of life, when they began to breastfeed effectively.

In the case of premature babies, breast milk is vital for them, so if they cannot breastfeed directly from the mother, it must be provided in a bottle or, as we see in the video, in a glass, once they are able to do what.

Recall that the WHO recommends that babies do not use bottles, teats or pacifiers if they want to be fed exclusively breastfeeding.

For its part, the AEP notes that in breastfed newborns it is better to avoid the pacifier during the first days of life and do not advise against it when breastfeeding is well established, and the reason would be the same: the pacifier establishes a habit of sucking different from the breast.

Many times we underestimate the ability of babies. I remember that my daughters learned to drink water in a bottle over six months, and many people were surprised. But as we see, even smaller babies can drink in different ways.

I loved this video of babies drinking breast milk in glass, because it shows us a way to ensure (or at least facilitate) that in the future breastfeeding can be brought to fruition, and babies will continue to take the best to grow healthy.
