'Those who don't': Campaign to prevent early onset of alcohol consumption

If yesterday we reflected on the responsibility of the family in the abusive consumption of alcohol by children, today we want to share with you the campaign 'Those who do not' presented by the Dual Association last Wednesday.

The action is supported by the National Drug Plan (PNsD), and its objective is prevent early onset of alcohol consumption in minors. The starting point of 'Those who don't? It is a spot starring the actors Izan Corchero and Miguel Ángel Silvestre. In the video, the young Izan Corchero plays with a table football in which one of the 'teams' are bottles of alcoholic beverages. The message 'if you play with alcohol, alcohol will play with you', aims to delay as much as possible the age of onset in consumption, in order to reduce, the damages associated with this drug.

In our country, The average age of onset in alcohol consumption is at 13.7 years, and during the growth process the internal organs are not fully formed, so they are more vulnerable to the effects of alcohol.

But when children abuse this substance, they not only harm their body, they also run the risk of suffering family conflicts, suffering psychological consequences or failing at school. That without counting on the possibility of generating dependency in adulthood (that is, a few years later), which is greater as soon as you start drinking.

'Those who do not', do not need to take anything to have fun, rather, they prefer to do without alcohol because of its negative effects. It is a platform that is also open to young people who have tried this drug although they are not interested.

The idea is to make an interactive website where boys and girls from all over Spain can meet you and exchange ideas and concerns, and in which we value ingenuity, and above all, the sense of humor

On this website there are different sections and sections, some of which are aimed at parents and teachers, so they can find more information on the subject. Anyway the main motivation is to stimulate the active participation of young people.

The star characters are Nasti, Lali and Marc, who will tell their stories to the young people, and present the contests or other initiatives of 'Those who do not'. The best thing about the campaign is the clear and direct language that can easily reach children because it is devoid of rhetoric.
