"Routes with children in the Valencian Community", a book to enjoy with the family

The mountain for children is a great outdoor school ', and this is what each page of the book conveys “Routes with children in the Valencian Community” written by Noel Arraiz and Águeda Monfort. The authors are editors, photographers and lovers of the mountain. Their trips through more than 50 countries have allowed them to photograph some of the most impressive mountain ranges on the planet. They share the passion for nature with their daughter.

When I learned about this book, I thought 'how much we were doing something like that', thinking specifically about my family; because although we love the mountain and we usually use Sundays to explore it, sometimes we lack ideas. And when I say 'ideas' I don't mean just routes (which too), but also tricks to involve children in the discovery of the natural. "Routes with children in the Valencian Community" is newly edited by XPLORA, and now you can buy it from the web at a discount (the original price is 19.50 euros). Includes 27 routes indicated for children to enjoy and develop their imagination (castles, caves, abandoned villages, forests, beaches ...); in each of them, aspects such as access to the place of departure, the existence of the Visitor Center, duration, difficulty, recommended ages, altitude, etc. are detailed. (even if they are suitable for carrying baby carriers).

You will also find drawings, descriptions, and more than 150 color images

Why do I like this guide? In addition to going to the mountain we love it (well, my 10 year old son only if we take a friend, but that is normal); I think the mountain is a place with multiple occasions to learn, and in this book you will find files that will help parents to enhance these learnings.

Within each route there are curiosities and concrete proposals that I am looking forward to putting into practice, but it is not a route book and that's it ... the first 41 pages are dedicated to advice of all kinds. From what to carry in the backpack, from what age we can carry children, guidance systems, first aid kit and first aid, introduction to sports in contact with Nature, etc.

The truth is very complete, and it is very well structured, with photographs to get an idea of the places, and dream of visiting them. Of the 27 routes, I have made 6 - and not all of them complete - having lived almost always in the Valencian Community, I realize everything I still have to discover; Y I'm going to get down to work, since I think it's a beautiful legacy for my children.

I very much agree with Noel and Águeda: the mountain is a great outdoor school, and also in it children learn how many would like to do it on any occasion: experimenting and discovering according to their interests.

Imagine the mountain as a magical place that we must take care of, and you will allow your children to learn to protect it

It is a highly recommended book for families with children from zero to ... well, until they are teenagers; and I imagine that it will interest especially the parents who live in the Valencian Community. But if you're going to stop by next summer, you'll also like to know that In addition to beaches and monuments, natural treasures are hidden that you will like to discover.
