What happened to the cord clamp?

A few days ago I noticed a curious keychain worn by a co-worker: a newborn belly button clamp It was the key holder. This immediately led me to think about where I kept my daughters' clamps: in a drawer, with the "stuffed" belly button piece included. An object not very aesthetic, really, and that many people do not understand why it should be saved.

And it is not that I want to make a key ring with the clip (although I have to say that what I saw did not carry the belly button, so it could have gone through almost any clip), but I consider it a very nice memory, that It takes us to the moment when the baby was a newborn.

I recently taught my daughters their tweezers, although they do not understand very well what is that dry and blackish piece that has nothing to do with their rosy and soft navels.

But by showing them their pictures of babies with the clamp still in the navel, they have an idea. And by the way we took the opportunity to explain to them that it was through that cord where mom passed them the food when they were inside the belly, something that caused them a lot of curiosity.

The truth is that the fall of the cord is an event: the baby grows (but only has a few weeks), it has healed well (we have succeeded, and that seemed a task as complicated as putting diapers!) ...

Of course, if we are going to use the clamp as an ornament (it occurs to me that maybe you could do some crafts with it, and better the more tweezers) for any utility, better put it without the belly button to avoid giving it what some will see like a touch "gore" ...

You, What did you do with the cord clamp? Have you also saved, recycled or ended up throwing it away? I am curious to know if it is so strange to keep the belly button clamp as it seems to some ...
